Establishment of the HR Division

During my working career, I established two (2) HR divisions from scratch. As a planner by nature, I thrive in planning, researching, and designing activities. I enjoy collaborating with the business leader and line managers in fleshing out the HR division’s requirements for the business and initial HR and developing the initial strategy. I take the stress out of a time-consuming activity so that you are freed up to concentrate on other business matters.

Compliance Matters

The field of HR can be a minefield of legislation and procedures, and HR terms, the details of which you may not be familiar with. I am a reliable shoulder to lean on using my extensive experience in these matters to conduct an audit of your current records and practices relating to – UIF (Unemployment Insurance Fund), Recruitment procedures and record keeping, Contracts of Employment and record keeping, Health & Safety, COIDA (Workplace Injuries), Employment Equity, Skills Development, POPI Act, and Remote Working.

Policies & Procedures

I conduct a review and update of existing records or develop your Policies and Procedures that reflects your business culture and meets current legislation.

Employee Handbook

I review your existing Handbook or develop an Employee Handbook that is fresh, current, user friendly, and easy to understand; so that new employees have all the information they need to know exactly what is expected of them and what the rules and regulations are within the business.

Coaching of Line Managers

I coach Line Managers to understand their role in managing their staff.

Coaching & Training of
new HR Staff

I coach new HR staff (with some experience) to understand their role and how they contribute to the organisation.  For HR staff (no experience) I coach them to understand the Labour law framework and why the laws exist in addition to understanding their role and how they contribute to the organisation.

Service SA Law

Multi-National Organisations in South Africa

I provide an HR Audit to identify areas of compliance and risk in terms of South African Labour Law requirements.

Service & Cost Approach

I have extensive experience in providing HR services internally within organisations. I am acutely aware of the importance of trust and integrity in working with others. Building trust takes time; integrity is part of who I am. I seek to develop long-term working relationships with each SME client, to understand their business intimately, and to deliver the best HR solutions to them that will evolve as the business expands.

Work is conducted on a time or retainer basis, or specific project packages that is tailored to suit your budget.

Furthermore, I have supported a UK client with Employee Relations case investigations for 18 months remotely. Having worked in the UK I am familiar with HR requirements particularly within the Care Sector which is highly regulated. I use MS Teams daily and I’m very comfortable with this technology. I am available to support multi-nationals with branches in South Africa that need assistance with local legal compliance requirements.
